Male Calf Lipo + Fat Grafting

BBL BUTT LIFT | Dr. YOEL ROJAS

What is Male Calf Lipo + Fat Grafting?

Calf liposuction can change the profile of the entire lower leg. Excess fat in the calves is often genetic, meaning that biking, walking, or working out may not achieve the desired results.

If you’re considering lipo to reduce thick calves, Dr. Rojas can help reshape your lower legs through liposuction. Getting you smooth, tight, and toned calves.

Calf liposuction will give you muscle definition and/or enhance an already present (but hidden) muscle definition. This is warranted when you have excess fat that prevents showing the lines on either side of the calf. Gaining or elevating muscle definition is particularly important in MALE leg contouring.

Oftentimes males desire a higher degree of muscle tone as compared to females. For this reason, male leg contouring often requires the implementation of judicious and artistically calculated fat grafting techniques to be able to create the ultimate shape. Fat grafting techniques for the calves require fat to be placed at the subcutaneous tissue level and intramuscularly at the gastrocnemius muscle using intraoperative ultrasound guidance to properly visualize and avoid vascular structures. We also add PRP platelet rich plasma with our fat graft to enhance the viability of the graft.

How is Calf Liposuction performed?

Dr. Rojas uses tumescent liposuction to remove excess fat cells and slim down the calves. Tumescent lipo is the safest and most used liposuction method in the US. Tumescent liposuction uses a saline solution to numb the treatment area. General anesthesia isn’t required in selected cases. Liposuction is performed as an outpatient procedure.

Who is a good candidate for Calf Liposuction?

Ideal candidates for calf lipo should be in good overall health, close to their ideal body weight, and have good skin elasticity. Liposuction is not a weight-loss tool. To qualify for calf lipo, any excess bulk in your calves must be caused by fat cells. If the bulk is caused by muscle, you may not be eligible for calf lipo. Fat can be liposuctioned; muscle cannot.

Recovery from a Calf Liposuction

The first two to three days after calf lipo are the most uncomfortable and feel like a tough workout. There is no severe pain. Dr. Rojas can prescribe or recommend painkillers to help ease any discomfort. Most patients can go back to work within 48 hours of the procedures. Heavy exercise should be avoided for at least two weeks, but a light workout is permitted for 4-5 days. You’ll also wear a compression garment 24/7 (except while showering) for 48 hours after surgery.
